Where do the buses go?
The best way to find routes and stops near you or your destination is online at shuttle.txst.edu/routes, you can also use the TXST App. Or you can check maps at major bus hubs across campus for bus routes and destinations.

Can I track the Bobcat Shuttle?
Track our shuttles in real-time using the official Texas State University App on your smartphone or by visiting txst.passiogo.com. Each shuttle in our fleet is equipped with a GPS unit to provide real-time tracking.

Does the Bobcat Shuttle run on the weekend?
The Bobcat Shuttle operates on Saturday. Route 67 provide service to most City and Campus bus stops. Route 68 provides service to Stone Creek Crossing (Target, Academy, etc.) and the Tanger Outlets, and San Marcos Premium Outlets.

Does the Bobcat Shuttle go to the Austin or San Antonio Airport?
The Bobcat Shuttle does not provide shuttle service to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport or San Antonio International Airport.

Is there a shuttle to TXST football games?
For home football games, we offer a dedicated shuttle service. Pick-up locations include the LBJ Student Center, San Jacinto Hall, and Edward Gary Garage, with drop-off near the Football stadium.

Riding the Bobcat Shuttle

How much does it cost to ride the shuttle?
As a student, your bus fee is included in your University Tuition and Fees for the semester. You don't need to pay a fare each time you ride.

Do I need to show my student ID when I get on the bus?
No. You don't have to show your student ID to get on the bus.

Can I request a stop at any point on the route or flag down the bus if I'm not at a Bobcat Shuttle stop?
The Bobcat Shuttle only makes stops at designated Bobcat Shuttle bus stops. If you request a stop, the bus driver will stop at the next Bobcat Shuttle bus stop on the route.

Can I bring my bike on the bus?
While bikes aren't allowed inside the bus, Bobcat Shuttle buses have bike racks at the front. These racks can hold three bikes and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

What happens during bad weather?
In case of severe weather necessitating route changes or service suspension, please stay updated through emails and alerts from the University News Service or UPD.

There are no seats left, can I ride standing?
Absolutely! If there are no available seats you can ride standing on the bus.
If there are no seats, please move to the back to allow more passengers to board, and use the handrails and hanging straps provided to hold on during your trip.

What if the bus is full?
Bobcat Shuttle buses serve thousands of students daily and might reach full capacity on occasion, especially the last bus before the top of the hour. Double check that people can't move back to provide more standing room.
If not, another bus should arrive shortly as all routes have multiple buses operating at intervals of approximately 12-15 minutes or less. Make sure to leave yourself enough time to catch the next bus if needed.

I was late for my class, what can be done about that?
It's essential for students to arrive at their stops early, as factors like train schedules and traffic can cause delays beyond our control. Transportation Services does not provide “late notes” for students.

Does the Bobcat Shuttle stop at every bus stop?
The bus will stop at the three major bus hubs: LBJ, Quad, Tower. However, for other stops along the route, if there are no passengers waiting at the stop or if no one on the bus pulls the yellow chime cord to request a stop, the bus may not make a stop at those particular locations.

Are Bobcat Shuttle buses accessible?
All Bobcat Shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible.

Does the Bobcat Shuttle provide Paratransit?
No. Paratransit is provided by the City of San Marcos.
San Marcos public transit provides curb-to-curb service in San Marcos to eligible passengers. Call CARTS at 800-456-RIDE (7433) for eligibility requirements and to schedule your ride.
